Welcome to the Montana Empowerment Center!

At the Montana Empowerment Center, we are dedicated to uplifting and supporting families of children and young adults with disabilities, from birth to 26 years old. As Montana’s Parent Training Information Center (PTI), we are here to empower, encourage, and educate every family in our wonderful state.

Our Mission

Funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), our mission is to provide families with the information, resources, and training they need to become effective advocates for their children’s educational journeys. We believe that when parents are informed, they can be powerful allies for their children, ensuring they receive the quality education they deserve.

What We Offer

Our friendly and knowledgeable team is here to guide you through the world of special education. We provide:

Information on Special Education Laws: Understanding your rights is crucial. We can help you navigate the laws that protect your child’s educational opportunities.

Support with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): We’ll assist you in creating and implementing an IEP that meets your child’s unique needs.

Communication Strategies: We’ll share effective ways to communicate with schools and educators to ensure your child’s voice is heard.

Early Childhood Intervention: For families with young children, we offer guidance on early intervention services. These programs are designed to support developmental growth in children from birth to age three. We can help you understand the resources available to promote your child’s early learning and development.

Post-Secondary Transition Services: As your child approaches adulthood, we’ll help you navigate the transition process. This includes preparing for post-secondary education, vocational training, or employment. We provide resources and support to ensure a smooth transition into independent living and adult life.

Founded in 2018 by families just like yours, the Montana Empowerment Center is run by parents and individuals with disabilities who truly understand the challenges faced by families. We’re committed to fostering a supportive community where you can connect with others, share experiences, and learn from one another.
